Two new poems at WTP

Two new poems are up at The Woven Tale Press, a lovely online magazine that features stunning visual art in addition to poetry. One of the new poems is actually a few years old, written while I was participating in the Unity College hemlock project.

forest moon

The other poem, copied below from the issue, came from a nighttime walk in the woods in late spring. The moon shone through tree branches onto the path, making chiaroscuro patterns.

Walking in the woods at night, I’m sometimes startled by sudden noises or shadows — usually my neighborhood’s astonishingly voracious deer herd.

Still, it’s easy to startle at night, alone. But maybe we aren’t alone.
